Talkinoutmyarse hits the sports pages

Hello All,

As Roy "Catchphrase" Walker use to say - "say what you see, say what you see"  and i certainly  did last Sunday watching Arsenal V Manure!!

Harry's going down for this long

I was bamboozled, that since Sunday, and the furore has subsided a bit , the defeat was nothing to do with Wenger's decision to take the Ox off but down to us fans booing Arshavin - puuleaaase - wake up and smell the coffee

It was just me caught on camera out of 55,000 Arsenal Fans asking - quite rightly in my humble opinion , why, when Arsenal were on the ascendancy in the second half, had just equalised after a fine ball by The OX - who looked to be getting stronger and stronger - was The Ox replaced by the dedicated, passionate, hard working, die for the cause, undoubtedly talented, lover of all things English and London( as his partner), wear gloves despite coming from one of the coldest countries on the planet, miniature Russian.

Oh but in the papers and on Twitter - oh yeah Twitter - all those that have 100's or if not 1000's of followers who have probably not set foot in The Emirates or may have but weren't there for this particular game - comment that "its disgraceful to boo Arshavin" OR " how can a player be expected to perform, when "we" can't even get behind our own players" -OR "us fans should be ashamed to boo our own players" - sorry to disappoint but that is literally "talkinoutyourarse".

The VAST majority of Arsenal fans were booing at the decision to bring on Arshavin for Chamberlain NOT BOOING THE PLAYER.

Welbeck, Fabio, Rafael and some other blokes?
Quick run down for you. 50th minute - great work from Rosicky to sprint clear and set up Van Persie who took it on his left and somehow steered it wide. 54th minute - clever skill from the Ox to set up Ramsey who blazed over - the crowd were now in full voice after a lacklustre display from the team in the first half. 57th minute - Rosicky in the box, strike from the aforementioned that was blocked 6 yards out by Evra's elbow. 61st minute - powerful , surging run from Koscielny from his own half, slipped the ball to the Ox who dragged his shot narrowly wide from 18 yards. 62nd minute Mertesacker cleared the ball off the line from that bloke from Pasadenas - Riding on a Train, Welbeck.
70th minute Koscielny with a well timed tackle in the Arsenal 18 yard box on the moonwalking Welbeck, passed into Rosicky who in turn fed the ball out wide left to The Ox, who with no fear and no apparent sign of "fatigue" drove forward, drew out his defender and with a lovely reverse pass, played in Van Persie who, by taking the shot early, deceived the Utd keepr and drilled the ball home in off the far right hand upright to make it 1-1 - and cue - scenes of wild jubilation - we were back and on the up- or so we thought!!

A minute or so later and off the Ox came and on went Mr Motivated Arshavin. Picture the scene, you're with a young lady, you take her back to her house, you go upstairs to her room, you're at 3rd base, you're on the final furlong, the ball is trickling towards the hole to win The Open, that last minute Johnny Wilkinson penalty is just about to go over the sticks, you're on the vinegar  stroke -------------- and her mum walks in!!!

Well that's how it felt Sunday - massive euphoria - followed by a massive come down.

There was anger and frustration and it was vented at Wenger - in hindsight, maybe a little over the top BUT - its a game of tension, passion, emotions, atmosphere and feelings - that is slowly be taken out the game. Its a football ground not a cinema - you want to sit through a match and not stand or get excited when your team is on the attack or goes close - watch it at home!!! The favourite phrase or saying now is " Siiiiiiiiittttttttt dooooooooooowwwnn"  Even if you fidget to shift your arse cheek to one side so you can let one go - "siiiiiiiiitttttttttttt dooooowwwwwwwwnnn" is screamed at you by some cretins behind.

Its not just at The Emirates - the sooner they bring back standing areas the better.

Yes there were chants of " You don't know what you're doing" but this is a reaction chant - if i can call it that. I went along the lines of " We don't know what you're doing" which is more Arsenal like and less derogatory to Mr Wenger BUT he is stubborn and set in his ways. The talk being peddled out from Arsene and Arsenal after the game was that Ox was fatigued!! that he signalled to the bench - scroll back up and look at 1st picture - that's how close i sit - I'm NOT a ball watcher - he didn't signal to the bench. Ox was interviewed and was asked if he was tired - He could have been told not to say anything - but surely if the manager had said earlier he was tired then he would have been told to at least say that - he didn't!!

It was, in my opinion, yet another tactical cock up - not going to trawl through all previous games but most recent Fulham away - rack your brain cells - 60th minute substitutions!!!

The rest of the game is history - momentum back to United. Arshavin not tight to Valencia when 1st ball went out, ambled over, didn't go with runner, wasn't strong enough and Welbeck, literally riding on a train, buried the ball to make it 1-2 Manure and game over.
On the balance of play i'd say a draw would have been a fair result - Rosicky played well - not many mentions of that. Same with Koscielny, excellent  - but Walclott was unimaginative, unproductive, unhelpful, underperforming and undeniably shit. He rarely doubled up to help Djourou and was nowhere to be seen when Nani fed Giggs  to get behind Djourou to cross under no pressure and Valancia scored!

Anyway we lost and we have to move on - and listen to all the transfer gossip of Eden Hazard or is that Daisy Duke from Dukes of Hazard ( i wish, get me back on the vinegar stroke - Daisy that is) joining Arsenal. Be realistic - he knows best, he has managed 30 years and done 50,000 substitutions which would work out about 6 a game !! ( Economics and maths is his strong point).
Bottom line - we have a stadium to finish off paying, we are going to struggle for 4th (not impossible), got a tough game Sunday - i will be there - lets see if those giving me stick when i made my feelings known to Walclott for his lacklustre performances will be there Sunday - I doubt it! We won't be buying so will have to put up with more afternoons like last Sunday!!

Atmosphere and drink up (the best bit)

The Eaglet Arsenal Supporters Club had decamped from The Eaglet pub to meet down The Gunners Pub, Blackstock road to have a drink and a sing song with The Awayboyz - to be honest, pub got packed - as it would, but, when the alcohol isn't going down the hatch at 3 to 4 pints an hour, we were not happy - plus not drinking in our local home match boozer felt a bit like cheating on your Mrs with her mum - slightly wrong but a little naughty!! ( ok totally wrong and i shouldn't have gone there - well i won't again!!) So went to The Canon across the road and managed to have enough to get us in the mood. Beer in a glass always helps and easy access to the bar is a godsend. Left at ten to four to make the ten minute walk to the ground.

Arsenal fans were in fine voice for 70 minutes despite all the ludicrous newspaper reports - United fans drowned out to be honest ( and you know i am) and disappointing - but as always they had the last laugh.

Disappointing blog this week - full of doom and gloom so apologies again and I'll move on.

Forthcoming events

I've been lucky enough, following my previous football "career" to be asked to manage the following football team on a Sunday and I'm looking for a kit man, assistant and masseur!!!

The Rot Continues - Swansea 3 - Arsenal 2

48 Hours on and i must have counted to 10 so many times before writing this blog and i'm just about calm enough now!!

Hello all and isn't it funny what a game where 22 grown men chase a bag of wind around a patch of grass can do to you???
Arguments raging over twitter between Arsenal fans, arguments between the spuds and us (even where they are mates!! or is that mugs??) arguments down the pub - twitter fans who are suposedly "in the know" who are telling us who is going to sign etc etc etc. And then getting into arguments and giving it "told you so " after.
At the end of the day, unless you are Mr Wenger - you will not have a clue what is going on - we can all second guess, we all know someone who knows someone - and i suppose thats the beauty of twitter!!! We all have opinions and can express them - thank god sometimes for twitter because it is  faceless - if you were down the pub discussing the rights and wrongs of what wenger is doing i reckon a few punches would be thrown!!! More about that later.

Atmosphere and Fans

Back to Sunday's game and prior to game i tweeted that i could see it being 3-2 - to whom, i didn't know - i can't comment live on the game because this was a game i missed (watched it in the pub and those reading my tweets will know its dangerous to tweet when drunk!!) - Milan away has swallowed up a lot of my shreddies - so Young Dan was the only representative from The Eaglet Arsenal Supporters Club to make the long trip to South Wales - and in his words, "large turnout again from the Arsenal away following but suprisingly quiet - Swansea fans loud and boisterous and good home support " Is there anything else to do in Swansea apart from watch football or pop round your cousins!!!!!

3 and a bit hours drive up there and 3 and a bit back - and whatever the right or wrongs of what the fan shouted at Henry and according to @AFCAMDEN (good follow on twitter - always close to action - great pics and great fun bags in one pic!!) who was near to the fan - nothing racist was shouted towards Henry despite Ian Wright retweeting some crap from a Chelsea fan saying it was racist - retweeting lies or printing lies can make you despised - Just look at Piers Morgan!!!!!

Fans have a right to berate players if they feel they haven't put a shift in - and don't tell me that the likes of Arshavin or Walclott put a shift in!!! Win or lose they pick up their 60k a week - should wages be paid on performances? I don't think so - MENTALLY you are either a winner or you are not - and i'm afraid these two aren't - in my opinion! Talent also helps - both have talent - Arshavin more so than Walclott - but both do not  not have that desire, passion or hunger to succeed to make  you a winner!!!

Not Far Wrong!!!

The team was the strongest that Wenger could put out - not balming him for that BUT this strength in depth has been our achilles heel for years now - i'm sick of the tired old excuses that injuries and bad referring are the reason why we are struggling so badly - WHAT EVERY FRIGGIN YEAR - change the record or the policy - IT ISN'T WORKING.

A Wenger quote " We do not buy superstars, we make them" oh yeah - then we sell them when they realise they are going to win nothing and Arsenal can get a few quid for them. Harping on about the Invincibles is exactly what it is, history - great history but Arsenal are struggling badly this season. Those that go to games - how many good, not great games have you seen?? Chelsea away - Wigan away (yes Wigan!!!) and Norwich away . Apart from Chelsea the other two we should be beating - that's 3 games this season - 3!!!!! NOT GOOD ENOUGH

Anyway, we lost the game, we have no strenght in depth, the majority of you will have watched it so i'm not going to comment on the game or go through it minute by minute - but a great line someone said was ...

" What do you get if you cross Theo Walclott with a ball??? - a goal kick!!"

Oh but he scored i hear those Walclott lovers  shout - and? - So in 90 minutes his job is a) to cross and assist and b) to score - Great - he scored but did F all else. 6 years now - he's a senior player and should be taking the game by the scruff of the neck - but doesn't.

Consistently good at the limp wristed clap
The Spuds must be loving this - but to be fair they've had years of this - suppose its our turn to take it - unbearable when mrstalkinoutmyarse is one, born and brought (dragged) up in Totnumb - spare room most nights now - especially last Sunday!!
Bottom line is - We all know he has to splash the cash - spend £25 million on a world class player - Henry's nice to have back for sentimental reasons but seriously - he isn't going to drag us out the mire - its embarrassing and then to get into a bit of a "row" with a supporter - come on Arsenal.

Henry's  Itzy or is it Bitzy Impression? (2 young - google it)

The Emirates Tour

Although i spend every other Saturday up there, decided to take my daughter on the Emirates tour - what a lucky little 13 year old she is????

For those that haven't been - and this is my second one - took a few vids and pics this time - those that have been or seen, ignore my self indulgence - those that havent - have a butchers.

One thing i did "feel" when i was up in the Directors lounge and Diamond Club - i don't think those that frequent these places really give a monkeys shit what happens out on the pitch - its a place to do business, a place to network - whether the Arsenal win, lose or draw!!!! Anyway rant definitely over now

Do they know there's a game going on the other side of the glass??

What's up and coming

Henry Returns - and i want to detox!!!!

Greetings All,

Long time since last blog but with Wolves and Qpr at home, Christmas and New Years day then someones funeral in between Christmas and New Year, meant more bloody drinking - people can be so selfish at times, there was little time to write a blog!!! There was food, drink food and more drink, followed by food and a bit more drink - until ......

Mr Creosote aka talkinoutmyarse
But I'm back now - not quite detoxed - there's always an excuse to do it another day - how many others keep putting it back? - Not being funny but would people stop inviting me to parties just after Christmas - its killing me!!

Quick report on Qpr, not so much the game but the atmosphere before and after the game - good old drink up the Eaglet and then on to the ground with Mr Will Chippington CEO of the Eaglet Arsenal Supporters Club and the QPR legend himself Mr Andy Impey ( if footballers were cars he's have to be Mr Andy (Hillman Imp)ey!!) - my seat is 2 rows behind the away dug out Row 6 - you'll normally hear my voice berating the away bench, with a crew behind me - more so when its chavs like Neil Warnock - who constantly berates everyone around him normally with a f*ck and a c*nt thrown in - takes one to know one Neil!!

Mrs Doubtfire?                             Neil Warncock?
To be fair to the QPRbench they took it all in good stead - especially and we weren't to know - the QPR sub who was getting it big time from the usuals - but then he took his top off and the surname was Orr - and up went the chorus  " You're mothers an Orr , you're sisters an Orr, whoever you are, your mothers an Orr"

Which technically she is and there was no harm meant - Great credit to Bradley Orr of QPR, after the game he came over to our section and threw his shirt into the main protagonists just sat near me.

The game itself was a tense affair and settled when Shaun Wright Phillips played a delightful ball to Arshavin, who gets an assist with a ball that even Steve Hawkins could have rolled through and there was RVP to do what he does best and finish coolly for his 35th premier league goal of the year - 1 ahead of the previous record held at Arsenal by some French geezer called Henry, who was watching from the stands - little did we know the drama to follow over the forthcoming weeks.

Barton got off lightly from the Arsenal fans - do we hate anyone? - surely he deserved a little bit more barracking after his play acting at the start of the season - but no - a little bit of "boo Barton, you bastard" from some sections (then shit did i really say that and then sit down)  and give him the freedom of the park and let him play quite well and for him to take the piss on Tweeter about the prawn sandwich brigade at the Emirates and how quiet it is - To be fair Joey Deacon Barton - we only sing and abuse the big players and big clubs and you and QPR aint that!!

NOW ONTO LAST NIGHT!!!!!!

Got to be honest - the thought of going to The Emirates on a cold January night for a FA Cup 3rd round tie against Leeds, didn't exactly fill me with warm fuzzy thoughts and excitement. Fa Cup games should only be played at the weekend (unless its a replay) - I've got Eastenders and mrstalkinoutmyarse for that - but at the last minute a certain Mr Henry re signed for the Arsenal and all those feelings came flooding back to my loins (!!!)

So with season ticket in hand made the short trip down to Finsbury Park, the stroll down the Seven Sisters Boulevard, waving merrily at all the businessmen and women going about their daily work, dodging the dog shit on the pavements, narrowly weaving out the way of the cyclist who was being chased by 2 of her majesties  finest London bobbies with truncheons drawn and into our second home The Eaglet.  The Eaglet Arsenal Supporters Clubs were also there all excited in the loins at the thought of Mr Henry making an appearance. Ginger Dan, Young Dan, Andy Gallstone Wadding, Minesh Chuckle Brother, Lango the Enforce and Scott Dany Dwyer Lacey ( i'll buy up your pub and rent it back to you)

Henrys coming -??? Eaglet boys

A few swift Guinness's were quaffed and unusually for the supporters club we left 15 minutes before kick off rather than the usual, stagger down the road, get into the ground 10 minutes in, pi*s everyone off and collapse into our seats!!

The ground had a buzz about it and nice to see the Leeds fans in good numbers and as always in good voice - 5000 wouldn't be a bad guess!!!

The game itself was the usual Arsenal of the last couple of weeks - loads of possession but not moving the ball quickly enough - ok it was a different line up but surely they are all taught to play the same way - lots of sideways and backwards passing - and not a lot of  attacking options from the full backs - Le Coq and Miquel. Arshavin looked threatening but too often ended up running up his own arse or falling over. Chamakhattack (but not so much of the  attack anymore, more Chamakhatractor) tried to hold the ball up and bring other players into the game - but failed - end of! Leeds didn't threaten much and the Leeds fans kept up that dreary "Marching on together " chant and that stupid "We are the Champions , Champions of  Europe" cock and the "You're just a small team in Totnumb, small team in Totnumb"  bull - but they were in good voice - shit loads of Whippets though tied up outside the Emirates - that must have been the reason for all the dog mess down the Seven Sisters Boulevard!!!

For any Spuds reading this, and i know you do, Townsend looked dangerous and looked very ugly!!! but played him on the right, quick and skillful, probably on t'night Leeds best player.- enough for you lot now!

Second half came, Northern lot polished off there bovril an hovis and carried on marching on together - Arsenal got into their stride and the great man decided to warm up- which certainly raised the decibel level.

Pace of the game was a lot better with the Ox terrorising the left back and often drifting inside and making things happen - telling you now he will be a great attacking central midfielder one day. Arshavin huffed and puffed and did try but his night was subbed up when Miquel played a lovely ball over the top to met by Arshavins Thigh Knee Shin - i thought we'd signed another non descript Korean player when someone shouted that but then realised it was the Russian midget.

But the script was written for the man himself and with about 20 minutes to go this happened Henry's Entrance  click on link( bear with it - its about 3 minutes as the ball wouldn't go out!!)

And then this ..........

Rolling back the years

We know that he's not what he was, we know we have deficiencies in certain areas, we know that Wenger is a tight arsed git, we know we are looking up at Totnumb rather than down, we know that Liverpool will be playing against Man Utd in an all white kit of white socks, white shorts, white shirts and white hoods - but this was one of those days/games that was nearly on a par with Barcelona last year - just for sheer theatre, passion, excitement, nerves, butterflies the lot.

You could not have written the script - well you could because deep down everyone, including all football fans throughout the land knew, just knew that this would happen- with 12 minutes to go, wearing the number 12, in the year ending 12, scoring his 12th goal against Leeds that Arsenal would win 1-0 and Thierry Henry would score!!!!!

I'm going to savour the moment - not going to look at the negatives of the display - that save that for another blog - but has there ever been a more beautiful player in the Premier League than the man himself.......
